Permanent link The Amherst School District renovation bond warrant article is asking the voters if they will authorize the issuance of not more than $3,995,000 of bonds or notes to support basic renovations to Clark School, Wilkins School, and Amherst Middle School. The renovations will emphasize safety, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility laws, and energy conservation. The renovations are part of a larger five million dollar plan that will be completed in the space of six years and be eligible for state aid of 30% ($1,500,000). For the owner of a $382,400 home (the average price of a home in Amherst), the highest total yearly cost of the bond will be $72.66 in FY 2010. The tax will be less in each succeeding year.
